could dog being unwell be due to bitch next door being on heat?

Hi, i'm sorry if this is a silly question but my dog is unwell, he's been sick a few times yesterday and today and is shaking and very quiet. I was wondering if this could be because of the bitch next door being on heat? Not sure whether to take him to the vet? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thankyou

No, a bitch in season would have the opposite effect - your dog would be pacing around and howling/barking to go out. He may be off his food, but he definately would not be vomiting, nor would he be shaking/quiet.

Thankyou for your help and advice all. I took him to the emergency vets, they think it might be pancreasitis so are treating him for that, taking him to my normal vets tomorrow to keep check on him. Thanks again

it wasn't pancreasitis after all, it was gastritis. He was so bad on Wednesday we thought we were losing him, still hadn't eaten or drunk anything (we had to give him water via a syringe) he's taking meds now and is like a different dog! back to his happy and mischievous self :) Thankyou again x
