Hi
I was hoping there are some doctors or other medical staff on here. I have been experiencing these symptoms for nearly two weeks now & I am worried.

I'll give you the details & hopefully someone can help me.

It started about two weeks ago, I had severe pain in the middle of my chest. Literally came out of no where. With this I had shortness of breath. I left it 3 days then went to my doctor.
He said it was probably muscle/skelatol & gave me anti imflammorties.

Three days later it was worse, felt like crushing/burning/squeezing in my chest-still with the shortness of breath. Went to doctor again & he gave me Omeprazole for heartburn- This has had no effect for me.

A week later my symptoms are now:
Shortness of breath - on & off with or without rest
Crushing/squeezing in my chest - At all times
Palpitaions-on & off with or without rest
Pain/Numb inside of left arm - on & off with or without rest
Pain or ache more to the left of my chest - At all times
Sharp/Quick/Shocking stab in my heart - on & off like contractions in labour?
Feeling a little sick, sleepy & emotional?

Today my doctor gave me Beta blockers & diazapam. Didnt tell me what was wrong with me & was vague.
I feel like a hypo because I;v been to docs 3 times in the space of 2 weeks.

For information:
I have under active thyroid & morphea (en coup de sabre) - a rare skin disease.

Please can someone help.

Thanks

Helpme, I'm not glad you were taken ill so don't get me wrong but I'm glad your OH called the ambulance, you are in the system now so they know about you. I hope your cardiology appointment comes through soon - as others have said, it sounds like the tests are trying to rule out different things that could be making you feel so unwell. Follow it up with the hospital if...

Also sqad,... the fact you dismiss my post (even though I am not SPECIFICALLY after YOUR advice) makes me feel very sorry for any past patients you treated, or not treated should I say. Thought MY doc was bad...

Hi helpmepls.

After reading ur description, i know exactly how u feel. It reminds of my partner who is also 30, hes been exactly in ur situation, went to a&e several times, all they said nothing wrong with him, said he needs to relax but the pain still there, its been hell. that happened 2 half yrs ago, he still suffers now but less cos hes on omperazole 40mg and was told he has to take it for life. urs sounds like Acid Reflux and need to tell ur gp to refer u to gastroenterologist to check it out. May i ask does the pain worse when ur lifting heavy stuff and sneeze?
Your welcome xx
Question Author
selfridge81-thanks for your answer. God, your partner has had it 2.5 yrs, poor man! My doctor did give me medication for acid reflux but it made no difference & then when I went back he told me to stop taking it & prescribed the beta blockers. It is so painful & is really getting me down. I'm literally unable to do most thing now. A new symptom I have is, I'v now lost my appetite?? The pain does not worsen when lifting heavy things but kills my chest if I sneeze or laugh (not that I have been laughing) :-( xxxxx
I have just looked at your profile ... and you are only 21 !

Loobylooo-thank you.xx
helpme .... so sorry, how embarassing, it was the number of posts you had had, not your age ! Hope you feel much better soon, keep us posted :) Perhaps you should go back to your doctor's practice and see another doctor ? i know I would.
i think 21 is the number of questions shes asked smurfchops :o)

Lol-dont worry smurfchops! I was wondering how on earth it stated I was 21? I dont even remember stating my age when I first registered on here....but probably would have been tempted to say I was only 21....we can dream! haha
Loobyloo-spot on.x
Yeah thats long time..! u can read my previous so u can see. Its long to type on here..! lol. Also few months ago, i made GP to refer him to see Physicotherapist who diagnosed Costochondritis and was told to try hot water bottle and TENS which helps but not 100 percent. He can't take anti-inflammatory cos of Acid Reflux. So i hope all is going well for u and get well soon, rather sooner than later..! xx

Seeing another doctor not make any difference, they're all the same.
That's what I meant, sorry. Senior moment (s)

Thanks selfridge81. I have read your posts, perhaps I could have "Costochondritis" like your partner? All I know is its very painful! I do appreciate your advice & I will keep everyone posted. Thanks again.
ur welcome..! For now, u can try Deep Heat cream and paracetamol to reduce the pain till they find whats wrong. Good luck and keep ur chin up :)
