GMTV, Kevin Sullivan from the Mirror is running an article on it, The flag of St George, why don't we fly it with pride, their will be a groundswell of it for the World Cup, so why only every 4 yrs?
Americans have the stars and stripes outside most homes..but if we do , we are considered to be racist, his words btw and not mine, see I am on the defensive already from the PC Brigade..lol

I think some people would get on a lot better face to face. When you can see someones expression as they talk and you realise what they are saying is not said in malice. On here it reads to be...
true that ummmm , must go bye
See ya....
It's because english people have a reputation for being big headed and loutish. If you go abroad with an english flag over your head it is like a sign saying "I'm an ahole" This has been developed over many years and it's justified to a degree I think. I don't think there is much can be done as it's down to attitude and english people feel superior to everyone else and I don't see that changing Saying that I don't see why it's a problem to fly your flag in your own country, everyone should feel pride in that. Just don't ram it down everyone else's throat.

I don't think people are Bobbi. Not in Northampton anyway....but saying that, we have a very small ethnic community. I went to Coventry recently and was gob smacked by the fact that I didn't see a white person. Also the first time I'd seen someone in a bhurka....
Question Author
admittingly we don't either ummm, very few, we have a very large orthodox Jewish community, one of the biggest outside Israel, who are really nice people, there are a few Asian taxi drivers in Newcastle and one of them flew the St George flag from his cab, was told to take it down by the Liberal Council of Newcastle !
Bobbi, I defend Britain, see my first post here

But that's because I'm an alien who's chosen to live here. It's the 'patriotic' Brits who are always moaning about how awful it is. As for the English, they get to moan about the Scots and Welsh as well as about people from other countries.
