I have an 05 reg Ford Fusion 2. The parking sensors have started beeping continuously when in reverse. I have tried cleaning the surface of them incase there was any dirt lodged in them, but to no avail. Does anyone know how to determine what the fault might be?
Thanks in advance.

You can't. I would say that is a shorted sensor .. or water in one. There is a holder and a sensor. Try disconnecting them in turn to see if changes symptom. If all seem ok, it is the module. Dealer will have to check that .. they are too expensive to chuck money after.
Generally if you disconnect one sensor, or one fails, then the whole system goes into error mode and won't work at all.
Are you sure its not telling you that its not working. I'm not familiar with Ford's system but my car has a warning light to tell me its not working, yours may activate the continuous tone.
I check my sensors, which are ultrasonic, by putting the car in reverse to turn on the system then putting my ear next to each sensor in turn. Even though the system won't function properly it still activates the sensors. The one that's not clicking is either disconnected or duff.
you've not had a tow bar fitted have you ?? ;-)
