Is there anything that the Muslims are not offended by?

These structures in no way resemble Mosques, middle eastern buildings yes, but Mosques no.

Ask any 8+year old to draw a picture of the lands Jesus knew and they would draw buildings such as this.

I wonder if they have given the OK to the training facility in Telford, because I can see no domes, but there are real Afghan looking people around, I wonder if that will make us think of Muslims in a negative way?

as the bombings have by the vast majority of Muslims
I think a better idea would be to bring the army out of North Yorkshire and into to the big cities around the country and do some real damage, to the real Mosques.
It was a pretty silly thing for the army to do. Someone was bound to complain sooner or later.

However, I think a better solution to taking down the 'offending' targets is to modify the other targets so they resemble Churches, Mosques, Synagogues, Kingdom Halls, etc.

That way, no one can claim they're being singled out.
As someone who has shed blood for this country I find the amount of intolerance in these answers quite frankly appalling. I fought agaist facism and intolerance, and if I'd known the attitudes that would exist in this country today I would not have bothered. The army should take down the targets and apologise to the muslim community for their insensitivity.
they have done so, onlineoap
Why should the army kowtow to the those people, the are here and make very little effort to integrate into society here (except to sign on,) they just carry on as if they were in downtown Baghdad. Bradford is heaving with them and hardly any of them speak English.Just enough to complain about the imagined slights.
Well said askyourgran.
[irony] Yes askyourgran - they should integrate by becoming what the British are truly great at - coming on anonymous forums and whinging. [/irony]
Some Muslims would prefer if they resembled the twin towers.
Anonymous forums are for all opinions oneeyevic, irony or not I live here and paid my taxes etc, and have done so for quite a lot of years I did not intend to work to enhance their lives. Thank goodness they don't integrate enough to come on anoymous forums, they whinge to the media enough as it is.

They work to enhance YOUR life.

Any idea what'd happen to your pension if Muslims disappeared overnight?

Scary.
What has tax got to do with the argument? If you pay more tax, should you have more of an opinion? They also live here.

I am sorry, but I thought that one of the best things about being British was that sense of fair play. Shame that the older generation now seem to want to bully others into their opinions.

Rather ironic that people fought a war to let people have opinions and rights - they don;t seem to like it that people actually use them.

So two people (maybe more) have complained that they don't like something.

In the local papers today 6 local residents have said that they don't like the fact that a college is having an entertainment licence. Should they be shut up as well?

This is just another small thing that is being blown out of all proportion - and sadly people seem to buy into it
I have no intention of bullying anyone with my opinions, they are my opinions,I have merely stated that I have worked all my life and now I have to put up with them being pandered to. Mustn't upset them, but what exactly are they doing for us apart from taking advantage of our free welfare service. Not scary. If they did go home I don't think for one minute my pension would suffer.

As 'JimT' stated at the start of this thread, “... this "story" has told me is that 2 men from Bradford are overreacting to something.”

That's precisely what this so-called story is about. Stupidly over-sensitive morons kicking up a fuss about nothing.

The fact is that the army are using cardboard targets, which looked at in a certain way, could resemble Muslim places of worship. Big deal. They're cardboard targets for crying out load!

Considering that the British forces are currently engaged in a conflict in two different Muslim countries, it does make sense that a practice target should resemble the type of building that they are likely to encounter. If the UK army was engaged in a conflict in the Far-East, I suspect that the practice targets at places such as Catterick would resemble Pagodas or some other cultural architectural archetype.
///Is there anything that the Muslims are not offended by? ///

Yes I expect there are many things that the Muslims are not offended by.
Question Author
Yes maybe only a few people complained, but these people were Muslims, and when they complain, the authorities sit up and take notice.

/// Last night, the Ministry of Defence apologised and said it had 'no intention of offending religious sensibilities'.///
