I am an HLTA in a Primary school and have been for 6 years. I am only part-time and to make ends meet I have to work another job 4 evenings a week. The opportunity to apply for a Full-time position in a Secondary school has come up and although I would love the chance to give up having to work in the evenings am not really sure how different things would be in Secondary. Has anyone ever made the leap from Primary to Secondary and would they have any advice?

depends where you live, if its rough then you'll get a shock
I thought you had to choose which type of school during your training,I didn't think you could jump from one to the other.
Anyway, if you have a 'subject' to teach then it is probably much more fun,but I expect it will be a very different environment as mollykins says!
Sorry, didn't realise you were an assistant, just ignore me!!
