and so it;s count down time and just convince myself it's for the best, with max we had no time to prepare as it happened so fast but we've made the commitment and know his end is in sight. Nothing to say or do, just keep believing everyone is right and he's ready to go. : (

I'm sure you've made the right decision dot.........I felt dreadful when I had Pixie put to sleep because I was convinced I'd left it too long for selfish reasons.
Dot - so hard. The days will be quick, while not long enough. Best wishes to Bingo - you are doing the right thing, with his best interests in mind. No-one can do anything more selfless for their pets. We will be thinking of you both.

I think I am doing it because my family are saying he needs to go, his back legs have stopped working and it is getting increasingly difficult for us to look after him, if I wasn;'t working i would stay home full time for him but that's not possible, and so even though I don't want it to be a reason, finances do influence it, but I could analyse it cold heartedly all i like he's still me dog!
Oh god...I too know what it is like. Just know that you are doing the right thing for him.....and he will be free from pain.
bless you both. all pet parents here will think of you all and be here when you need us. it always brings back such good and bad memories of my motley lot throughout my life when reading posts like yours dot. hugs and more hugs for all of you x

I really don't think he's in pain though, he's confused and abit agitated that he can't get on and off the sofa, but he sleeps and eats ok and has the senses to know he wants to go out, he is just dragging himself about, if he were a sealion he'd be perfect lol
Dot, why are you leaving it until Thursday? If Bingo is in a bad way you must make the decision to draw a line under this . Get to a vet, or get a home visit ASAP
Dot, even if you had all the money and all the time in the world, if Bingo is suffering, you are doing the best thing that you ever could for him. It's hard to let them go, but you are doing the right thing. I feel for you!
Is the vet coming to you, dot? I know you'd thought about that.
Such a sad time for you dot, sorry to hear this about Bingo, as you may remember, I was faced with the same dilemma a few months ago, and you gave me some very sound advice at the time, it's a very hard decision to make, but at the end of the day, as loving owners, we have it to do, you're in my thoughts, I know how hard it is! Take care...........
It is easier when you have no time to wait for the dreaded final appointment.

Best wishes for you and Bingo.

Susan
