I've been given a passion flower seedling which is currently about 12 inches high which I'm nursing indoors at the moment. I've never grown one before so would appreciate some advice on when to plant out, how hardy it is, and when to prune it. . I was planning to grow it up against a west facing fence trellis.

depends which variety it is... the bog standard one is as tough as old boots and grows pretty much anywhere so long as it has enough light. The fancy coloured ones are more tempermental and a west facing trellis sounds good, they need a bit of protection over the winter The other trick is don't feed them too much or they make lots of leaves and few flowers,
