Why don't large stores like Homebase employ more staff to cope with their promotions! Homebase on Friday and Saturday had a 15% off promotion but not enough staff to cope with the extra influx of customers! I was there on Saturday two checkout assistants no customer service staff! Girl on checkout said she was run off her feet trying to cope! What is wrong with these companies!! The only people working in the store were the customers!

I agree with oscarina. Whilst there has to be a balance between costs and service I would take my custom elsewhere if the baalnce is wrong. If the store doesn't want to provide a reasonable service to customers then it shouldn't be in business.
