New hard drive fitted

Im fixing a laptop for a mate..
Its had a new hard drive fitted not by me the lappy is running slow and stuff anyway i was going to do a re-install.
As its had a new hard drive does this make any difference to the re-install ?
I have all the old disc,s for the system.

I no how to do a restore what im asking do i need to do anything different or new drivers since it isn't the original hard drive

If you have the original restore CD or DVD as the case may be, pop it in the drive and follow the prompt. There will be drivers on the restore disc.
