An exchange between vessels of the North and South has resulted in a South Korean naval ship sinking with over 100 aboard, probably due to a torpedo attack.

Will this develop into a full scale war or will it be just one of those one-off incidents?

For the Korean war to start it would have first had to end.
I haven't read the link, but, it's nothing unusual, they've been taking pops at one another for years.
There'll be an inquiry which they both say the other was to blame and declare it as a victory.
well the news is that there has been a ship sunk with sever loss of life...it will kick off this time...
If left alone it will fizzle out.
