I sometimes do a stir-fry, not very often, which is mainy a smoked herring one or just a veggy one: carrots, courgettes, with celery with a dash of this & that. I'm looking for other veggie alternatives maybe without potato. Have you got any ideas??

I'm sure you could follow a recipe for a stir fry containing meat but just omit it

Here's some that you might want to look at

I was looking more for an ABers recipe. I've been on these sites before. What 3 or 4 veg. ingredients go well together?
Ever tried Bean Sprouts. Usually when I have it I have, Bean Sprouts/Noodles Red and Green peppers, Onions, Water Chesnuts, Beef, Chicken and Pork. There might be more things but my dad makes it and I'm 13 so I'm not of a high remembrance level
i did a veg stir fry on monday for tea. it contained:
1 red pepper and 1 yellow pepper
a small head of broccoli cut into small florets
2 large leeks
1 courgette
6 large brown skinned mushrooms
large handful of mange tout
ditto green beans
ditto baby sweet corn

i do stir fry about once a week/fortnight and just throw in whatever veg i happen to have to hand. i think they're great for getting loads of different veg into you. sometimes i add a couple of spoons of marinade (jerk, chinese, sweet & sour, etc) at the end, or maybe balsamic vinegar, but more often than not i just season it. sometimes i do a sheet of egg noodles too, and stir them in, or chop and fry a couple of chicken thighs and add them. i especially like veg stir fry made with cabbage, really tasty :)
onions
mushrooms
garlic
carrots
broccoli
peppers
ginger
beansprouts

stir fry, make a sauce out of soy sauce and rice wine (or sherry) thickened with a bit of cornflour and seasoned with whatever takes your fancy (pepper, 5 spice, herbs etc) serve with noodles - nice!

Thanks for all your answers so really anything goes. I'll try those ones out ethandron and JB but maybe not so many ingredients there are only two of us!! How are you doing ethandron, by the way?
JakesB so 13 year olds these days have low remembrance levels??? I hate to think about our future... LOL
there's ony two of us too coccinelle....but we do like our veg. i rarely do rice, pasta, potatoes, etc., and the only bread we eat is a sandwich at lunchtime as a rule, so we tend to fill up on all the veg. been trying to cut down on our meat consumption too as i felt i was basing all our meals around it and we were eating far too much, and nice though it is, i felt it wasn't good for us. been eating a lot more fish and only having meat maybe once or twice a week, could never give it up completely.
am doing ok, thank you for asking, a bit up and down at the moment due to various things but looking forward to some warm weather and getting out and about. what about yourself? hope it's not someone very close to you that has the medical problem you posted about a little while ago.
