Good morning everyone - we're at the halfway point of the month, time to set off in hot pursuit of Rose Maybud who has a very handy lead but before we do - just a timely little story to remind us all that this computerised world has it's glitches and we should never forget our hands-on skills.
Today there is a state election here in SA - during the past week both Mr seekeerz and myself received a letter from whoever organises these things, with a request that we take said letters when we go to vote. A friend who likes to get these things over and done with quickly was an early bird at one of the country polling booths, only to find a long queue of people and the news was - 'they' had computerised the process [!!] and couldn't find anybody. His advice - take a chair and a packed lunch !!! Mr s and I made our way to our local booth later this afternoon, only to find laptops out of sight and the old electoral sheets doing a sterling job of getting people in and out very quickly - have a feeling they needed a trial run first !!!
Hooray for the good old days !!!!
