what band came out with the song "video kids" back in the early '80s say up to no later than '85? It started out with the sound effects from the old arcade game "tempest". It wa sbig for a short time from a one hit wonder type band.

There was a duo called video kids who did a tune in 1985 called "Woodpeckers from space". Could this be it?

I knew if i had enough time i would figure out the answer for myself. Just an fyi but the band that did "video kids" back in the early '80s was "prototype". A classic one hit wonder.
