I have been a member of this reverse auction site for a couple of years. I noticed around Christmas that the items available to bid on were decreasing until there were none. I emailed a couple of times asking when there would be more items to bid on but received no reply. I have been visiting the site regularly but there were still no items available for bidding on and today I am unable to access the site. Around the time the items for bidding on started to decline they had an offer whereby you received three times the number of bids for the usual deposit and I paid £10. I am now wondering if this was a scam and they have "run off" with everybody's money. Has anyone any further information?

I don't know exactly whats happened but its clear now that the website no longer exists. I used the website and can tell you that it wasn't a scam it had been running for at least a couple of years with, as a general rule an auction evey week. Goods turned up in a timely fashion when a bid was successful. I had about £50 in my account when the website, like you say, seemed to run itself down so I presume there would be many others in the same boat. Hence my saying it wasn't a scam, but its logical to say that if they knew they were going to shut the website down and still allowed people to invest during its final few weeks then that would be well out of order - scam like!

Thanks thexman for your reply. Sorry I didn't acknowledge it sooner but I thought I would get an email from theanswerbank telling me I had a reply. I am disappointed with bidclever as I too had been a member for a while. I had prompt responses to my emails and found them very accommodating until the auctions gradually disappeared and then the website and then there was no response to my emails. I had never actually managed to win anything but had fun trying.
