Most certainly YES.

I'd kick up a major fuss. If you can't do it take someone with you who will.

What does your GP say?
Oh you poor thing - how worrying for you. What does the hospital say when you are discharged?

Different doctor maybe? Health Visitor? Maybe different hospital? Try the walk in centres? Just keep going back when she is ill.
what are the doctors saying about it? you say shes been in and out for 3 months, and if shes ill every 2-3 days she must have been in a lot of times.

What is her weight doing? are the HVs involved too? can you ask them or your GP to refer you to different peadiatricians?

of course, if your daughter is not eating and drinking correctly then she may be open to all sorts of bugs etc and it might just be that she has caught lots of different illnesses over winter (as many of us have) and that there is no real need to test her for anything as all admittances have been for symptoms of different things.

well the first time i was a nurse at my doctors who said dont fore her to eat and make sure she is drinking gave me some calopl and ibrufen, days later she woke up in the night her temp was 39.7 i rushed her to the out of hours surgery who just told me carry on with calpol and keep forcing her to drink, this is all they say every time i go! iv seen a nurse, a doctor, an out of hours docctor, and same doctor afew times at the hospital.
i dont really get what you are saying here.
Are they admitting her to hospital for treatment or are you just take her there when worried and being sent home again.

My children have both had temps as high as 39.7 for up to a week at a time when ill. I have been told that unless te,p is over 40 and baby has other symptoms not to go to A&E.

There are a lot of bugs about at the moment. My own two have had cold after cold since November when we were hit by the flu.

Find any way you can to keep your daughter drinking. As long as she isnt dehydrated then shes ok at home. Give her whatever she likes to drink and perhaps mix in calpol when she needs it, though really a temp should be left to clear itself where it can.

yea i am just taking her in when im worried but she is 14 months always been a really chubby baby she is now in age 6-9 month clothes she has lost that much weight! this is just since before xmas. she has stoped walking she just cant be bothred, and to be ill with only days break for 3 months i dont think is right! she is drinking but i have to give it her though a medison syringe and force it down her!
ok, so have you made a new appt to see GP and explain that your daughter is now lethargic and refusing to eat and drink at all on her own? You now need to force them to refer you to paeds or to a dietician.

also speak to your health visitor
If you are not very clear on explaining symptoms - then write it all down clearly - the symptoms an d how long they have been happening - the weight loss is important too - you want answers - just hand the note to doctor or at the walk in clinic - that way it is clear and you wont have to remember everything
Carlie,
have you got help from others around you? I believe it was you that had pnd and are also a single parent now.
Does anyone else have success in getting your daughter to eat and drink
Question Author
yea i have lots of help, my mum has been staying with me and so has my partner to help out alot, my pnd isnt a problem anymore since i admitted to my family i needed abit of help every now and then with my daughter. i have made another appnt, i thinkin writting everything down is best.
yes it is. Its amazing how much we remember we should have mentioned once we leave the doctors office lol

Good luck. Take some support in with you if you feel you need to
