Bit over the top and scaremongering surely? 2 glasses of wine a day can double your risk of high BP/stroke/mouth cancer...so can loads of other things in life though - 3 bags of crisps a day can cause high salt intake that can also increase BP/stroke etc... ? How many people have never smoked/drank alcohol in their lives but still had these unfortunate illnesses.... we never hear about those people though do we? Hate it when the government/NHS try to scare the public - but they dont complain about the revenue they get from cigarettes and alcohol do they....

I wonder sometimes who comes up with all these statistics. If we believed everything they tell us we would not eat, drink, have sex, or indulge in anything else for that matter.
Ice. they are the statistical of many years of large group medical studies.....up to you if you don't care for the data.
people are drinking a lot more alcohol, its fair to warn them that alcohol carries risks over time

My grandad smoked 20 cigarettes a day for 30 years, had 2 shots or rum every evening, was in excellent health up until he was "invited" to have his first pneumonia immunisation and died 2 weeks later at 88 from (you guessed it) pneumonia !
my dads friend died from liver cirrosis aged 43 and he used to drink a few pints every day/other day, my partners best friend dies from alcoholism, his mom died from lung cancer (smoking), for every one story there is another.
Ice....in simple terms:

Nobody is saying that if you don't smoke, you will not develop cancer.
Nobody is saying that if you don't drink, you won't die of CV disease.

Now look at the statistics for smoking and drinking in that light.

It is your choice.
