I am temping at the moment as a favour for my sister-in-law as a "Front Desk Operative." Now, as the front desk is lathe free, i am not strictly operating it, I am, in fact, a very, very bored Receptionist.  Once I worked for Wetherspoons- awful bosses- and my job title was not bar maid- not even bar person, it was ridiclously long and complicated!  What job titles have left you speechless- or laughing!

Mid-day lunchtime supervisor (dinner lady)!!!
I have a distant relative who is called 'A Trained Wet-Floor Cleaning Operative' - in other words, a Mrs Mop!

The cleaners at our place wear smashing green tabards emblazoned with "Hygiene Team".

Loss Prevention Officer......Means a security guard working nights at a factory! Had 3 people tell me that lately and i was like, a what??? until they explained what it was to me and when i asked why it isnt called securtiy guard anymore they all explained that security guard is regarded as a lesser job along the lines of refuse collection officer (Dustman) and that unions demanded a better title for there workers to give them respect and credibility!!

A friend of mine applied for a housekeeping job at a local hospital...the job title was "Environmental Technician I."  There was also an "Environmental Technician II", which meant you were qualified to operated the electric floor polisher.
