'favourite' symbols

when i add a site to my 'favourites', i often get a lovely little logo that goes with it - when i restart my pc - it has gone, why? and where can i get it back!!??

the icon is called favicon.ico, and web developers make them and put them in the root directory of their site. When you add the site to favourites, it looks for this and adds it to the favourites menu in IE. Because it's stored in your temporary internet files, it can also get deleted too, so whenever you clear your temporary files, you also clear all the favicons. The reason you don't always get one, is that not all web developers make one for a site!
