On my N96 there is an app that allows me to download programmes from the BBC iPlayer to my phone and then watch them later when I am offline. Is there a way I can do this on an iPhone? I'd rather not have to mess around with hacks and pokes... Just want to watch some decent programmes when I'm stuck on the train, or somewhere else with no wifi - I've had a quick search around online for an answer to this one, but all related posts I can find all seem quite old and not that helpful... Thanks!

At the moment you can only stream programmes over wifi to an iphone. You can't download yet. The mobile phone iplayer service is still a trial.
If you go to the help section on iplayer it will tell you which phones can do what
This answer might be a bit late but....

I use get_iplayer (http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer) which allows you to download shows to the computer which you can then transfer to your iPhone.
