Cleaning CD Player

What is the best way to clean the CD part of a CD player, e.g. are those CD cleaning discs any good? Ta Muchly.

unless your having problems with the player i would not bother with a cleaning disc
just a good hard blow into the slot would be just as good as a cleaner as it will only be dust on the lens anyway

if you store the docs shiny side up if not in their cases a wipe with a spray window cleaner will suffice

OK Deggs and Zacs, will give it a try...and oh, I forgot, why should player show no disc?...is that the same problem with the lens or whatever it's called?

You could take the cover off the player,then the cover off the disc player itself. You may find bits of hair ,fluff.etc. inside.
