Good program for scanning photos?

Is there a program into which you can scan a photo and the program will know the dimensions of the photo and save it without borders. Also if I could find an easy to use editing program for photos it would be great.

Most scanning programs that I've seen will do that automatically as long as you pre-scan before doing the main scan. (including the scanner and camera wizard built into windows)

If you have a printer/copier/scanner then the printer will have supplied a scanner program.

I have an Epson printer, and one of the programs that came with it is Epson Scan.

Very simple to use an ONLY scans the picture and not the full size of the scanning plate.

My Canon scanner utility allows multiple photos to be scanned at the same time. It scans, aligns and saves them as separate files.
