Pronounced "noh-kee", it's Italian for "little dumplings". Basically, they are just little balls of dough, usually served with tomato sauce or butter. Sometimes they have cheese or spinach mixed in the dough.

The dough is potato, plain flour and a binding agent such as egg or milk. Very nice and easy to make. Try with plain or herb butter
