Hello EV N&C Wine Clubbers (plus any TT contributors),
Filled the grid quite quickly and have adapted the normally clued answers to give me 6 adjacent squares that represent the "where", they are seemingly approriately positioned. Not sure however that I have adapted them in a manner that they actually fit the whole quote and show how "Times Were A-Changin'"! For certain I have a number of entries that are no longer words.
Going to resort to a glass of Tempranillo for more inspiration, perhaps even a kosher bacon buttie!

Hello everyone,

AndrewG-S, welcome, why have you just lurked so far? This may be, as devadolly and Novalis describe it, a madhouse, but it's a very sociable like-minded one, albeit with contributors from diverse backgrounds, both geographically and educational discipline. With devadolly's comment about recycling bottles, also a green one! I was also deflected initially by the title to Dylan, not the Magic Roundabout one though!

Jogler(s), I have adopted the optional plural that seems to have become de rigeur, have a good time across the pond. Apologies for Absence are accepted, unless of course you accept the 2 offers of e-mailed pdfs! My image of dr b in pink pinnie hoovering while reading the Financial Pages and doing EV is mind-boggling! You could sign up to the Telegraph "Clued Up" thingy, they do a free 7 day trial.

Dr b, How is your daughter doing over here in our metropolis? Are you intending to visit her at any time, or is that verbotten (spelling?)!

I got a second "wind", thanks for the hints, and am relatively happy now with the final grid.
Doc, your image of me is way off base - I never read the financial pages while hoovering.

Daughter seems fine - just got back from a weekend in Paris, she says. Heading off to Barcelona sometime later this month. Actually Mrs dr b is heading off to London next Saturday. They have a week all planned, mostly in London but I believe one side trip to Bath, possibly also Oxford. Apparently some studying is also occurring. The program(me) she's in has 5 weeks of intensive courses followed by a 10 week internship, so I think she's looking forward to the classes being over and the internship started, although that will cut down on her free time (and hopefully her expenses?).

Sorry about being so far off base! Pink fluffy slippers instead of the Financial pages perhaps? Pleased Mrs dr b is going to have a full schedule while here. Let's hope the Markets recover to ease the pain of financing both study and travel. Last time I was in the US the exchange rate was £1.00=$2.04. Never bothered changing the surplus back. Not exactly sitting on a profit , but wont be crystalising any losses! When does your daughter return home, and any plans on return?
Novalis, probably best to hide any quiz posting deep in an EV posting to avoid those adverse comments.

It suddenly struck me, dr b, while mrs dr b is over here that she could pop into a bookshop and buy you a copy of that exalted dictionary we refer to, namely Chambers. She would even be able to get the 2008 version, so you'd be a step or two ahead of most us! The downside is that it weighs at least 2.5kg, how light does she travel!
Doc: yes, apart from the financial pages, your description of me is eerily on point.

Re Chambers, that is a thought, but on the other hand when a puzzle says "Chambers (2008) is recommended" I take a perverse pride in getting the thing done without it.
Sorry for going off topic, but ulysses100, you are on the right track with Inquisitor 1110. The thematic entries are connected only as bad puns, though - nothing more. As you mention, there are How green was my valet andTrash torc. The others include -/ - - -/ - - the heart (Tommy Cooper), - - - - - - - - for a song (old English romantic tale), - - - - - - tower, and a brazen North london football team. Shout if you need more
Hello everyone and welcome AndrewG-S. Like everyone else I have quickly filled in the grid, then spent some time on the adaptation and like Dr. B toyed with the second word of the full quote. I am still struggling to accept the 'obvious' change, obvious in terms of position and place but not, to me at any rate, in terms of the preamble. I'm left pondering that it's 'how' times were a changing as well as 'where' so will see whether the morning brings a better grasp of it.
I didn't lurk for too long only for a couple of weeks! I have been doing (or trying to do) the EVs for a couple of years now but I only found this site recently. Good to join the madhouse...
Thanks so much turnerjmw. I got there in the end. Thanks for the prompt but, I ask you, fez and chutzpah !!!
Welcome AndrewG-S; as everyone has said - they are several stops east of Dagenham, but that contributes to the fun (my half of the Jogler team is quite normal...). Travellers might be interested in that I discovered something wonderful about the h-g's large red brick, namely that there is a code in the back cover that allows six months free access to the Chambers website - so I can put my clothes back in the suitcase! We will do our best to keep up with the chat; sadly I cannot leave home without an electronic crutch, and dr b has kindly offered to make sure we will not go without cruciverbal stimulus.

Jogler(s), Excuse me, but my map shows stations North East of Dagenham East as being Elm Park, Hornchurch, Upminster Bridge and Upminster. I think I'd prefer to be described as 4 stations South West of East Dagenham!! Woof woof!
Hope the packing for the trip doesn't invoke too many 32a. Remember when travelling always wear shoes that are easy to take on and off, and socks without holes! Have a good time. Hope you can get EV from dr b Ok and are able to drop into the EV threads while away. You'll need to add travelogue as well!
DocHH your tube map does not lie. By putting our fellow n&c'ers only around Dagenham I was being careful not to suggest they are the full Upminster (eight stops beyond Barking)! Thank you for the good wishes; believe me, you do not want my full travelogue but I will try and find some editable highlights!
Hi Jogler!

You can suggest that I'm the full Upminster any time you like. I won't deny it!
The full unexpurgated travelogue would be nice.

DocHH, I was careful to bury appeals for quiz question help deep within the bowels of EV and Speccie threads. Trying to Google for answers at a later stage led me straight to those threads. Nonetheless I got there in the end and I was careful to ask for hints/pointers rather than answers.
Arriving late this week....just back from a weekend in Spain, and I didn't want to look in here til I'd had a chance to do the EV (which daughter had kindly left in for me ). Yes it was a breeze, but an enjoyable one. Welcome , Andrew. Ulysses, I didn't find any connection in the Inquisitor apart from homonymns. I'm now just starting to look at last Saturday's Inquisitor, having done the Speccie and EV last night. Very out of sync.with my crossword days. Ah well!, it was great to have a few days sunshine and blue skies.
