I'm not that worried about him. I don't want to risk getting locked up as an accomplice.
if you get locked up think of the money you will save on gas if we have a bad winter next year.
C'mon Jake. We're talking about someone with a brain injury who has been awarded money. Not someone sitting on their elbow all day trying to get rid of their earnings from selling crack to school kids.

This winter was so bad I'm thinking of going south next year. I'm going to spend my winter fuel allowance to help finance a few months in the Canary Islands.

You can have all the sympathy you like

We have people on the thread advising others on benefit fraud

I'm not making judgements here I'm just saying ideas have been bandied about and it would be better if the thread went away

If someone is awarded money for injuries sustained through no fault of their own. Why should they not be able to keep the full amount?
Sandy, if he has to use his own money he could legitimately make a claim once his savings dip below £16k.

he may be entitled to other non-means tested benefits such as Disability Living Allowance.
actually ummmm, you make a good point. there are some cases where compensation is disregarded, but this would need to be checked with the DWP.
Yes Sara...so Jake can rest assured that we are not advising someone on how to commit benefit fraud.
i don't suppose Jake has ever nicked so much as a paper-clip.
Buy £4,000 worth of stuff.

If you find you can't use all those 25 iPods, they would have to go on eBay.
