2002 Clio. Parking car and selecting reverse, gearstick became floppy and will not engage any position. Car cannot be moved Any suggestions?

If this has started all of a sudden, open the bonnet & look down in the direction of the Gear Links on the side of the box, I think you will find one of the Ball connecting Links has slipped off.
