Typed in this pattern to the "Freeplay Search" column at lexifind.com:

B...IEST

to get all eight letter words starting with B and ending in IEST.

BITTIEST is certainly a good candidate. It means "Made up of many apparently unrelated parts."

Other possibilities are BALKIEST (which involves stopping and starting, creating disjointed movement), and BARMIEST, since "barmy" means "mentally irregular. BUGGIEST also has merit, since a "bug" is an inconsistency. Nothing else seems to be even remotely related. Media URL: http://www.lexifind.com
