Physics - Work done and power output question

A car engine provides a motive force of 700N when the car is moving at its top speed of 40ms-1
a) How much work does the car engine do in each second?
b) What is the engine’s power output?

Could somebody please help me with this?!

Work is force over distance = Fd

So in 1 second the car covers 40 meters and you know the Force (Joules)

Power is work per second so rather easy after a) (Watts)
this is a straightforward application of the formula. Looking at your notes or any texy book will tell you the answer.
Ah but it is easier to get someone else to do the homework, and let the exams wait until too late ;-D
perhaps Inkie has a very small internet enabled phone and will contact us from the exam room
Alternatively perhaps it's just someone who needs a little bit of help with the concepts rather than just the answer - which is why I answered as I did.

Work, Force and Power are one of the more confusing parts of the GCSE syllabus and not everybody understands things the first time they're explained

Some of you are so used to immediately assuming the worst about people it's become just a bad habit!
Possibly. or possibly we're just not that naive. The question was specific, not a request for an explanation easily obtained from a text book.
