Why do some programme makers think the average viewer now has the attention span of a goldfish?

Many programmes, especially those about house renovation/sale, have to have a trailer before the commercial break telling us what is coming up later(presumably to ensure we stay tuned for the 2 minute break), and then after the commercials we have to have a review of what's happened so far, obviously because we have terrible memories.

Can somebody please tell the makers that we can remember things from one minute to the next, and we are watching the programme because we want to, so we don't need promos every 15 minutes.

It's because we do have the attention span of a goldfish. Nowadays your average viewer sits with his remote in his hand flicking back and forth between hundreds of channels of crap. They tell us what's coming up after the break to try and tempt us to stick with that channel, and then they tell us what happened earlier in the program in case we've come in half way through and need a recap of what the program's about, so we can quickly 'buy in' to it and stay watching.
The worst offender I've found for this is a show on Bravo called Street Crime UK.

It starts with "tonight, on Street Crime UK..." and shows brief highlights of what's to come. Then halfway hrough part one will be "still to come on Street Crime UK...". Part one ends with "after the break on Street Crime UK...". The part two begins with another "still to come on Street Crime UK...", so a particular incident that happens in part two will sometimes have no fewer than FOUR previews!
Dead right LOM I watched one the other week about the bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma city and it showed the same clip about ten times and thats not an exaggeration.

I now dont watch them at all.
bank of mum and dad does it the worst

Actually guys, I think I ought to go back to my doctor and return my medication because I thought I was suffering from some sort of deja vu virus and my doctor told me that I might be suffering from A.D.D.
