OPENING VIDEOS ON COMPUTER

I have taken lots of photos on my holidays which I have put onto the computer, however, I have done a few videos but can't open them. does anyone know how to do it. Thanks.

Right click on one of them, choose the OPEN WITH option from that context menu and select the video viewer that you want to use.

Thanks jumbuck for your prompt reply, however, I have right clicked and the only options I get after clicking on this is
Windows pedia player and windows photo gallery neither of which will open the video.
Firstly, in OPEN WITH is Choose Program...which lets you select from the whole range of possible programs. But if you have already looked there then...

Secondly, VLC can display nearly all video file types, is free and works well http://www.videolan.org/

If that doesn't succeed then let us know what the file extensions are.
