Disabled benefits

My partner and I earn in total 23000 per year.  I work part time due to disability and only earn 7800 of this.  We qualify for a big fat zero in tax credits despite the fact that my disablility puts me at a disadvantage if I tried to find another job.

I receive low rate DLA for mobility and care, but can't help thinking there may be other benefits I can tap into to help ease the financial blow of having to revert to part time hours - anyone got any ideas?

I get DLA, incapacity benefit, housing benefit and council tax benefit. Also worth investigating are the extra bits that DLA entitles you to. You can get free car tax (might have to be on high rate mobility, I can't remember) and reduced congestion charge rates. If you get a disabled parking badge, you get free parking in most places, and also a great deal on breakdown cover with the RAC. See your local Citizen's Advice as well, they can advise on other benefits.
try entitledto.co.uk or the CAB
