We can't quite understand Kelly Rowlands 'Stole' song/video - we're fairly sure that most of it is about this kid who killed himself 'cos no-one liked him, etc - but then why does the chorus witter on about the girl that found him ( the one with the same size hands as Marilyn Monroe - allegedly !!! ) - wouldn't it make more sense to go on about the bloke who just blew his head off ? Anyone got any ideas ? Or does she end it all as well and we just haven't seen the end of the video !

My boyfriend plays this song constantly at the moment, so I have become a little too familiar with the lyrics!! The song is about a school kid who is bullied because he is smart, 'cause smart don't make you cool'. 'With his father's nine (gun) and a broken fuse' he kills his fellow classmates and 'he's all over prime time news' and has his 'legs in chains' (i.e. goes to prison). The lives that are stole (the girl who could have been a movie star and the guy 'who had a tryout with the Sixahs...now we're never gonna see him slam') are the classmates who were killed. That's my synopsis of the song anyway!
As far as I can tell, the gist of the song is that if you don't befriend every geek that comes along, they will get a gun and blow your brains out. Oh, and apparently having the same size hands as a famous actress is a definite indication of star potential. What an incredbly stupid song.

Oh right, thanks - I missed the fact that he'd taken out a few folk along the way, I thought he'd just topped himself. I'll sleep easier tonight now !
Glad you can now sleep well Isla, cos it keeps me awake at night wondering why she uses the past simple tense of the verb 'to steal' (i.e. stole), rather than the past participle (stolen) ;-)

don't even get me started on the 'stole'/'stolen' debacle !
God I hate this song - it's pathetic
"stole" is not about a kid committing suicide. Its about a kid who's very unpopular, so he's like deppressed. The 2 most popular kids in school are mary and greg. He's so mad, deprressed and jealous that he kills them with his dads gun. He's put in jail. I don't no how you got that he killed himself.
You all have this things wrong.  I just watched the video and it's clear that the smart kid took his own life, the gonna be movie star got pregnant, and the b-ball player got shot by another gang or something like that.
