Who were the two snooker finalists in the first world snooker final... where a century break was not compiled in the match? Thanks

They played with heavy ivory balls until well after WW2. Centuries were rare and even Joe Davis had been champion a few times before he made a ton in competition. To answer your question:
The first championship was held in 1927 and the final took place at Camkin's Hall, Birmingham. Joe Davis won the event, beating Tom Dennis 20-11. The highest break of the tournament was 60 by Albert Cope.

Thanks very much BilSuth, very informative and much appreciated. I have to admit I misunderstood the the question slightly. I took it to mean as asking which was the first final in which this happened, rather than telling me it happened in the first final and find the two players .. so thanks again ..a fresh pair of eyes !!!!
