My hubby was a best man and found some things on a website (which he can't remember), but here is what he remembers...
The girl looks like one in a million and the bloke looks like one in a raffle...
I was delighted to here that X offered Y his honour, and even happier when I was told that y had chosen to honour his offer, and in x hours he'll be honour and offer...etc

Also he ran a sweepstake around the room. Each person put in a pound and had to guess how long the speech would be. Obviously those with a longer time applaud for longer, it gets the crowd going too
a good line i heard when the best man spoke was " i thank ...... for finally admiting i am indeed the BEST MAN
If the wedding is in the afternoon he can say if it does not work out at least they have not wasted the whole day !!
Our best man said 'The groom promised me that if I did a good job, I could be best man at his next wedding'. People liked that one - even me (need to make sure the bride has a sense of humour)!
Not all sites charge, there is an excellent blog Best Man Help http://www.bestmanhelp.com/ which provides great tips, advice and sample lines for Best Man speeches.
