Akmal Shaikh, 53, a father-of-three from London, was executed in China after being convicted of smuggling 4kilos of heroin.

Would you have executed him and if not why?

i wholeheartedly agree cazz...taking drugs does cause more harm than good..but iv'e yet to meet a drug dealer who gives anything away for free.
ahmskunnirt.....holland legalised SOFT drugs and interestingly enough the heroin problem in the netherlands has not grown since records began in 1971...i'm not supporting the legalisation of drugs but there has to be something in giving the people just a little of what they want...personally i feel that alcohol is the worst drug on earth and has ruined more lives than any other drug ever will....partly because it's so socially acceptible.

oh dear ahmskunnirt..i bet you havent travelled much...a whole lot of the worlds poor folk rely on growing poppys..cocoa etc to feed thier children...dont know if you realised but there aint many branches of the job market in afghanistan or south america....you twit!
I can see what Gonzo means tho in a way, it has been proved that legalising anything takes the heat off it a bit. Its like some parents allow an under-age person to take alcohol in the home in the hope that they wont go getting legless and chaotic outside? If its available in some form then its not so exciting as it would be otherwise, same as anything done before whether it be CB radio which died a death once it wasnt illegal. Nobody was interested suddenly it was uncool.
ps. general motors is a cottage industry compared to the worldwide poppy /cocoa/drugs trade!
If you legalise drugs, firstly you get rid of the criminal elemant, secondly its not so cool any more so less people would get hooked, thirdly the drugs people take are pure and not cut with whatever crap the dealer has so there would be less deaths, forth the government could tax it so if there were any extra NHS costs then they would be covered. would be no diferent to cigerettes or alchohol
I kind agree ^ but not on the A Class stuff

Class A drugs or B,C whatever, they should all be legalised if the drugs are pure then the death rate would drop, the crime would reduce because the prices would be realistic so scum wouldn't be robbing people to get their fix.
here's his history

Doesn't honestly sound like what I'd call sane (though not what I'd call bipolar either). More llike the village idiiot than a demon drug pusher.
i'm by no means disappointed ahmskunnirt! just very suprised to know that someone can travel so extensively with thier eyes firmly shut!...sorry, but the governments of the world can only ever put a dent in the world drugs trade, while the people of these regions are still poor then they will continue to produce drugs,it's as simple as that. you or i will never be able to do anything about it so don't bang yer head against a brick wall...build a bridge and find a new cause to trumpet about!
Obviously ahmskunnirt's opinion is the right one because he says so!! I am allowed an opinion the same as everyone else, Im not insulting you and telling you your opinion is wrong, just stating my opinion. You obviously don't understand what this site is about!
