every year on my birthday and for xmas i get a gift from both my brother an his wife between them, and a present form my sis and her fella between them...yet i am expected to get them something for each of them separately on their birthdays... 8 presents

i dont really mind of course but it just occurred to me that this seems a bit unfair

what is the done thing here? at xmas i suppose you could give one gift between them but not on birthdays....

why do single people, have to pay double an couples half..?

as i say im not that arsed, as im happy to buy them gifts...but it just occurred to me, bcause i havent that much money to spare...so do you just buy cheaper gifts?.

what do you all do?

thanks

haha aye well thats the other prob,my birthday is he 17th of dec so i sometimes get dual pressies too!

just seem soo unfair!! bah !! haha
my mums is xmas day too and we are TOLD haha to not combine prezzies...every year we get birthday paper and cards and a cake...and banners... got to be seperate...quite right i say...xx
lol i have the same thing happening with me joko!
i dont have that much money either to splash around, so i just get a combined christmas present for them for christmas and a nice but cheaper present for their birthdays.
its a swizz innit?! lol
Christmas babies should have their celebration birthdays on a date of their choice, as long as it is the same date every year.
Like the queen.
It depends if you receive expensive presents from them then I suppose its ok otherwise if you are beginning to feel a present inequality then I suppose go for chocolates on their birthdays and a present at Christmas?
Cheap present and a couple of scratch cards. A few years back I put scratch cards in xmas cards and they all won more than I would have spent on them anyway.
it's crap isn't it! Not just singles either -
Anyway, in our family we buy for the children (nephews) AND the parents (sis-in law and brother-in-law) which i think is a total swizz because we only get 1 present from them, and we have bought them 4!
It's my sons birthday today and have ALWAYS ensured that he has a birthday and a xmas pressie. Other members of the family buy a joint b.day/xmas and yes, i think this unfair. As for your family, i would most definately make sure they have a joint xmas and separate birthday. I know your not 'arsed' either way but something small/cheap is all it takes in my book!
You have to draw the line somewhere, this year we are only buying for the children, we have 18 grandchildren between us,
