Does my employer have to give me time off to deal with a burgulry that has happened during the night or can they force you to use your annual leave?

Thanks

its unauthorised leave, they dont have to pay you at all

Some bosses may be kind and pay you regardless, letting you keep your annual leave.

At least you will be paid.

Ok thanks for your help
what's a burgulry,is it anything like a burglary?
Yes, RIG, it's a theft by a trespasser who steals wholewheat. It goes against the grain. Anything else you want to know?
That's the cleverest play on words since AOG misspelt 'military personnel lives' as 'military personnel livers'. Absolutely brilliant, Fred.
if we are on about funny spelling mistakes than I nominate TWR for his "engine mountains" :)
If you steal wholewheat it must be bulgary
Yes, yes. You're about 2 days behind the joke.
magicmerlin :Bulgary is another offence entirely i.e breaking and entering a Bulgar ( n. b. it's defence to prove you took him in the Balkans).
It could have been bulgury [bulgur = burgul ] , which is the offence when committed in daylight, but burgulry can only be committed in the hours of darkness. Ian says it happened during the night, so it was burgulry. The latter is the more serious offence. Taking burgul at night , get caught, you end up with porridge.
