Thanks for the link mintyman.

I enjoyed this puzzle and strangely I solved all the unclued lights ( thanks to Bradford)
before the last two clued ones.
I could take issue with the accuracy of some clueing, but it didn't detract from the enjoyment.
Thanks for the prompt PDF.
Thanks Mintyman

Many thanks for the PDF. It took me a while to work out where the first of the missing letters came from; Columba was a bit sneaky here, I think. Otherwise, an enjoyable puzzle.
Yes, Helveticus, it took me a little while to spot that but it raised a smile when the penny dropped. Actually, it was sillier than that: I saw where that letter was missing, but for a while STILL kept looking for that letter where the rest came from too.

For those without Bradford, nil desperandum, the items are in Chambers too.
Thank you for the PDF MIntyman as usual. Much appreciated.
I suspect you guys are right that the 'missing' letter was a tad sneaky but an outside possibility is it was missing from the end of the very first definition (making it an adj) - not perfect but just about possible at a stretch. Especially as i'm not convinced about the word play in another clue but hey ho.
