Why and what for? - He is one of the most irritating entertainers - and needs to be put out to pasture..
He is so full of himself and is useless without a 'cue' to guide him.

Is there a campaign to object to the recommendation?

Bruce is a popular entertainer and your view is minority.
in your own opinion as well....
his wages are a waste of the BBC TV fee...
I wish he would just retire and get off the TV screen. The most irritating person ever.
At the moment the minorities seem to be the majority. Bruce is a nice old duffer, but past his prime and he should retire gracefully.
He certainly doesn't deserve a knighthood.
I think this question ought to be entitled, "Bruce Forsyth to be knighted WHY?"...
Although, that said, I am obviously in the minority ;)
He can't cope without the Autocue and he struggles wi that at the best of times. You can almost see the fear in his eyes as he looks at the camera and as for the "jokes," they're mince.

Anybody with a memory longer than 2000 here?
Bruce Forsyth has been in showbusiness a very very long time, even before the autocue was invented. Also he hasn't had to rely on sick jokes and foul language to get a laugh. Irritating or not, he is deserving of a knighthood.
Those of us that are 'old' will know that Bruce Forsythe was one of the best, most versatile and most loved entertainers for many, many years. He was an 'institution' and his services to TV and entertainment are second to none. I can't think of anybody in recent years that comes anywhere near him when it comes to the whole entertainment package. I can only assume from the answers on here, that some people are not old enough to be aware of his past professional life.

OK he is getting on now and past his prime (it happens to us all in time) but he certainly deserves a knighthood.

They dish knighthoods out to the likes of Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Cliff Richard, Elton John, etc., who have done far less for this country.

Bruce is not one of my favourites - never has been - but I certainly recognise him as being worthy of this honour.
A compromise - lets give him a knighthood IF he retires - everyone happy now? MERRY CHRISTMAS

Hey .. Dr Blockbuster is not happy .. but he is pleased to read the 2 previous posts!!!

I have a 1200 member group on Facebook ... so do we still want to argue ???
1200 people out of 45 million television viewers, yup, that's about right.

Bruce is an embarrasment and his performance in the "simply" final was cringe-making. If we're honest about it, his past television programs were tacky and awful too.
He's a granny's favourite and prhaps could get a CBE, or even an OBE before he gets too senile, but not a knighthood.
