You'll have to sneak them in the trolley when she's not looking David! ;0)
I've never been to a Morrisons - I must make the effort - not for mince pies though, I can't bear them!
Question Author
They do very good steak their as they have proper butchers at the place.
i know someone who works there and before they started they did 20 odd years in the steel works, so does that count as being a proper butcher???
it does if they know how to joint dead animals properly
they went from the steel works to being a butcher, and didnt know the frist thing about butchering, just cos you see them behind the butchery counter doesnt mean they know what they are doing
it's all a matter of strength really I can joint a chicken but I'd have a job with a bull. Once the steelworker had the nasty bits to throw away pointed out to him I should imagine his strength was a great asset. Now tell me he was an accountant at the steel works lol.

I possibly wouldn't want to see him on the fish counter with those deadly Japanese fish though!!
Nothing like home made mince pies : )
Morrison's don't have proper butchers in store. You try asking for an unusual cut such as beef skirt, or calves brains, and they can't supply it. If they were proper butchers they'd have the whole carcass but all their meat is ready butchered. The most they do is cut smaller pieces from it.

Please don't confuse me.

I like the idea that they are real butchers because it says so in the ads.

The little guy from Top Gear would not lie would he?
how much was he paid dave??
yes therea re some real butchers in morrisons but no they dont cut from complete animals
not all stores supply all cuts of meat, my morrisons does supply skirt and salmon cut
what do you class as a "real" butcher
Question Author
What is salmon cut
its the muscle that comes off the side of the siverside opposite from from the topside, its usually more expensive but well worth it and morrissons is the only supermarket that sells it
for thirty years I've bought half a shoulder of lamb - the curved side not the knuckle side. Now when I shop in Asda their half a shoulder is neither one side nor the other -I'm thrown when it comes to serving it because the muscle is not where and the size I expect it to be. Their butcher probably came from the steelworks too!
