My hair hurts!

Has anyone else experienced this? A few days ago, one small part of my head was hurting intermittently, verypainfully, almost as if I'd been hit with a small hammer.

I don't remember sustaining any injury so it's got me really puzzled and a bit worried.

As I've said, it doesn't hurt all the time, but when it is hurting, just touching the ends of my hair at that location makes for more pain.

By the way, the pain is becoming more persistent... Apart from saying, 'Go to the doctors.' does anyone have any ideas?

Your actual hair itself can't hurt as it's dead...What sounds as if has happened is that you have damaged the nerves holding the hair follicle in place (there are loads of them which is why pulling hair out hurts so much) and merely moving the hair is agravating the problem....and sorry i can't think of anything to alleviate the pain.....and as for your other question about argueing....yes it's easy to win an arguement just shout louder and longer than anyone else.....but to win a DEBATE however is a different kettle of fish....you have to be able to formulate a plan of attack on the opposite point of view and not let yourself be sidetracked from this by your opponents debate....this can be practiced of course and ouy can become better but like all things in life some are intuitively better at it than others.
Drat, I'll get the hang of this HTML at some point honest....and please do us a favour gazza....don't make your question's so long it's nigh on impossible to reply because the window that apeears ain't big enough....try replying to your arguement question and you'll see what i mean.
You're quite right gazzawazza, the first port of call is the docs!! It could be any number of reasons, and every person who has experienced this will tell you something different - in my case it was nerves trapped in the neck, through the spine being out of alignment - but in any case persistent pain is your body telling you that something is not as it should be - and help is needed! Head pain is really wretched so I really do hope it goes fast!!
i suffered from this a few years ago, when i'd brush my hair or run thru with my fingers the scale would hurt. i think it was caused by wearing a hat, which pulled on the hair (only at the front) slightly over a period of a couple of hours

Thanks to all for the answers, and I'm sorry sft42, point taken!
That sounds like a migraine. If you can point to the exact place on your head that you are getting a pain and it's very tender to the touch, then migraine is a strong possibility. There's a small possibility that it could be something a lot worse like a clot or a tumour. Have it checked ASAP just in case.
