Hello, possibly a stupid question but.....My 16 month old daughter had her MMR on Wednesday morning, she seems a little out of sorts, and has a large red lump on the leg where she had the jab - how long will this last?

Of all of my children only one had a lump after their MMR and it seemed to last quite a long time. I did contact the surgery and they said this sometimes happens but I made them put it into their notes (sorry - can't remember which of my children it was - that's why I am saying their instead of his/her!). Sometimes they are out of sorts after any jab but you can give them Calpol if they are really poorly. (PS - not a totally crap mam but I have five children including 19 month old twins so sometimes just remembering my name is a miracle!) Hope this helps

LOL, I struggle to keep up with one! She's ok just a little grumpy - after all her other jabs she was just sleepy that day, but ok again the day after, but this is different, so I'm not sure if its the jab or something else?! Think I'll give the surgery a call if the lump is still there on monday. It seems swollen & hot, and she's never had that reaction to any of the other jabs - thanks sherrardk
Hi K8 - my little boy had this too - I think it lasted no more than 4 or 5 days, after about 5 days he came down with mild symptoms of mumps too. He was quite miserable but nothing too serious but I did take him to see doc just to be on the safe side. Hope your little girl feels better soon.x

She's had us up all night, being sick! :( Also her temp is lower than than it should be......v.confusing!
Ring the NHS helpline or your local out of hours doctors service - you don't want to be worrying until tomorrow when the doctor's surgery is open

I'm gonna end up grey before I'm 30 worrying this little madam! She's now stopped being sick and is eating & drinking again. :) I'll keep a close eye on her but hopefully we're over the worst now!
How did your daughter react to her previous jabs..this shouldn't be the 1st..if she is reacting differently than her previous jabs then you should get her looked at professionally as her symptoms may be something that has nothing to do with the jab..hope shes well real soon.

sorry Alfie hadn't seen your reply. You were right - nothing to do with the jab, it was a stomach bug, we all got it in the end!
