If this is about Performance Management of business entities, it is typically concerned with use of a balanced set of Performance Indicators (Quality, Cost, Timeliness) by which the business measures its outputs.
If this is about Performance Management of the individual, it is typically about use of Appraisal systems to set objectives, review, feedback of the individual.
