When I was a teenager,I worked for the summer in a small seaside hotel. At breakfast one morning, the chef was adding the fried egg to the fry I was about to serve, but the egg slipped off the plate and landed on the kitchen floor.Without missing a beat,he just scooped it up,and plonked it back down on the plate and told me to take it out! Had to do what I was told, but I never forgot that! Anyone else ever witnessed anything similar?

Eugh HELLYWELLYWO - this wasn't even BK I was talking about, this was in MacDonalds!!!

..the owner of one resteraunt I worked at used to salvage uneaten salad garnishes from customers plates, ditto the cheese board, ditto any veg for the soup of the day the following day...

..at another establishment I worked with a lovely chef who was highly qualified and had cooked on the QE2, however every friday night a very fussy customer used to come in for steak, he always complained about something, one week the chef was not in the best of moods and when the chap complained his steak was tough, the chef blew his top (much to all the staff's surprised as he was so laid back he was horizontal),, he got a fresh steak threw it from one side of the kitchen to the other  where it stuck on to the wall tiles, and slowly slid onto the floor, where he stamped on it a couple of times, picked it up, spat on it and threw it onto the grill...the customer said his steak was very tender ...

I am so sorry OTRERE, I know that it had huge puke factor and How terrible that the 2 top fast food establishments have dodgy burgers. I bet that there a few horror stories to come from those places.   oh yeah anyone with a story from maccy dee's and bk please tell all....
I recently worked in a hotel that served a bowl of strawberries to a guest - complete with a worm.  Work in catering long enough and you'll see enough to write a book.  In fact I fully intend to!!! :-)

ha ha!! ermintrude35.-
