£10 notes have been around for many years, so how is it that they have suddenly become scarce?

I think it is fivers that are in short supply judging by the number of heavy £1 pound coins I am given in change..

Bring back the pound note, I say.

Switzerland isn't an EEA country - by referendum, the Swiss rejected membership when the rest of EFTA (except Svalbard) got into bed with the EU in 1994.
Can't answer the Polish question at the mo but I do know we have what are called Reciprocal Agreements (RA) wi other countries. That means folk from other countries involved can benefit from Britain's laws and Britons can benefit from the other countries's. Switzerland is one of the countries with which we have an RA for some State Benefits.
Ilford Park is administered by the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency (part of the MOD) and was set up for the Polish troops who fought for us in WW II. There was an Act passed in 1947 The Polish Resettlement Act and that placed a responsibility for meeting the needs, either by cash allowance or maintenance of certain classes of Poles and their dependants.
I've actually got all the Fivers! Been saving them for nearly 2 years ready for my big birthday next year.
SORRY!!
I work in a Post Office and the memo has been taken out of context. What they were saying was that for the winter fuel payments - which are to be paid out in the weeks beginning November 16th and November 30th that some branches would receive some £50 notes in with their normal cash delivery. This is not because they are running out of £10 notes. This is only for the weeks with the higher payouts. Our branch received some £50 notes last year, but haven't received any yet this year.

Doesn't the Daily Mail like to scaremonger?!!!
Ilford Park Polish Home is for retire veterans who came here under the 1947 Polish Resettlement Act.

Switzerland is singled out because it is neither a EU or EEA member.
Sorry, didn't see the above answers.
