The hotel i work in is family run they have 2 hotels the one i have been working in for the last 12 years is the smaller one.I used to work in the bigger one,but was asked to go to the smaller one to work as they were having problems.Lately a lot of coaches have cancelled i think due to credit crunch anyway they have closed the small hotel were i was and transfered any guests over to the big hotel i have been told there is no work for me and i should sign on even though the other hotel is stillopen and they are still giving other staff work who happened to be working in the big hotel at the time most of them having only worked there for a short time.

So have you been told that you are being made redundant, then?
It's a poor show. Are you due for retirement? A lot of companies are replacing long-standing staff in favour of E.Euros who work cheaper & more pliable. Blame the Employment Laws.
