Is it just me or is anyone else getting a little concerned by the number of people with new pets, who don't seem to have had one before, posting on here lately asking about things tht they should have known about before getting the pet?
Don't get me wrong...late is better than never and these are obviously caring sensible people or they wouldn't be asking at all....but still...
When we got our first dog, we did loads of reading around (no internet then) and got the third degree from the breeder to ensure that we had such basics as feeding, vaccinations, worming housetraining etc well understood.
If you are reading this and have just got your pet then please I mean no offence, just its soo much easier on yourselves and the wee one if you have an idea before bringing the new pet home...

Problem is pets are so easy to come by, I really grill my puppy buyers and they don't get one unless I am sure they know exactly what they are taking on and are capable of looking after one. For my part I provide the information they need together with advice and the promise of an instant return if for any reason things don't work out. I am on the end of the phone 24 hours a day and until the day I get the call to say they have gone to rainbow bridge they are still my babies.
