they are usually 6ft.6ins long, as against 6ft. 3ins.
A kingsize bed is 5ft wide ...a double is 4ft 6in ...
go for a superking, 6ft wide by 6ft6 long...fabulous!
I don't think our king size is any longer than our old double. I haven't noticed. Must go and measure!

Woofgang, does 6'6" give more room for the woofhounds? ;o)
I don't think ours is either...

We've just picked up my bed from storage as it's so comfy....looking it now though...it looks like a single compared to the one we're sleeping in.
Ours is a Kingsize, 5' wide. However someone recently gave us a new mattress and it's several inches longer than the base, although the same width.
This might appear twice. I have just measured the mattress and it is 6'6". Strange - I hadn't noticed and Mr LL and I are both tall people.

If this doesn't post I will give up!!!
I beleive you can get a 4ft bed as well. which it neither single or double. my mother-in-law has one.
