Best vacuum cleaner for hard floors

Has anyone got a really good vacuum cleaner which will pick up lots of dog hair from hard floors? I've posted this here rather than HOME as I need the opinion of pet owners. TIA

Miele Cat & Dog - best vacuum cleaner we've ever had.

I bought a Miele Cat + Dog last year and would not be without it - its brilliant! I must add i have, over the years, had several vacuum cleaners all of which failed to perform as well as this one.

About 4 years ago I asked the same question, as Max is a long haired GSD. and despite having borrowed and tried several different vacuums none where really effective . The (almost unanimous) recommendation I got from the pet owners on site was the one already given by both JMR & BusyBee, It is without doubt the best vacuum we have ever had.

With 3 dogs and a cat, I wouldn't be without my Miele! Best vacuum cleaner I've had!
