Her daughter (about 2 yrs old) has had constipation for about 3 or 4 days.
I suggested she give her daughter something like Syrup of Figs but not sure if that is suitable for a toddler??
Can any mums or dads out there offer any other solutions / remedies.
I think the simplest start would be prune juice or orange juice.. but she shouldn't let this carry on too long as it can become a psychological problem for the child.. then all hell will break lose!
Try giving her sweetcorn, baked beans, peas, maybe fig rolls, personally I'd ask my health visitor, pharmacist or doctor if it went on much longer, assuming that something has happened to make her not want to go to the toilet.
Thanks guys....i believe that the little one had a bout of sniffles and was on neurofen and maybe something else and has not been able to go to the loo...she's at the potty training stage and is confused that things hurt and are not working as normal...
i'll pass on your suggestions and hope that nature takes its course. cheers x

I just passed on your advice and i have been gleefully told that 'little miss' has produced the goods......at last...so panic over...and thanks everyone for your advice...xx
